"With over 10 years of paid dues, touring relentlessly across dozens of Canadian cities and playing to crowds both large and humble, it's no suprise Kapulet's stock has been rising rapidly with each passing year. Between spearheading the CCDNB "Canadian Content Drum N' Bass" Podcast, as well as founding the acclaimed Stride Recordings label, he has quickly become an important asset to not only Toronto, but Canada's Drum N' Bass scene.
His diverse, high energy sets and ability to blend literally any multiple styles of DnB without bias in a single set has made Kapulet a crowd favourite. His diverse musical tastes and track selection caters to essentially all ears. His seamless and aggressive mixing abilities get the dancefloor moving, leaving a lasting impression on virtually any crowd to which he plays.
BIO:
Dustin Kapulet has steadily been building his repitoire since the turn of the decade. He began attending Drum n Bass parties in Toronto in the late `90s and began DJing almost immediately thereafter. In 2001, he formed the now defunct Prolifik Productions company, working closely with friends on organizing events while furthering his name in the local scene. In 2005 he became a heavy contributor and primary resident of the unceasingly active and busy GME (General Misconduct Ent.), playing gigs essentially every week.
During the last 5 years, Kapulet raised the bar playing revered sets alongside internationally accalimed artists like Dirtyphonics (France), Donny (UK), DMC Champion DJ Dopey, Masheen (UK), the Konkrete Jungle NY crew (USA) and others around the province. He has co-hosted the long-running Taste Of Bass program on www.bassjunkees.com for several years, on top of guest appearances on nearly every locally run program in the Greater Toronto Area.
2008 saw the birth of his CCDNB Podcast, a groundbreaking bi-monthly podcast featuring 100% Canadian content. The first and only of its kind, CCDNB quickly grew in both popularity and quality, boasting exclusive interviews and music from Canada's top artists and most cutting edge newcomers. With its popularity at an all time high, Kapulet founded Stride Recordings shortly thereafter. The all-Canadian based label is currently home to 4 diverse and acclaimed artists who have been making huge waves on a global scale (Rene LaVice, Schematic, Override and Spinlock). With each release seemingly more successful than its predecessor and numerous notable chartings (including a #1 stint on Track It Down), the Stride camp has gained a massive amount of support in a very short period and is clearly growing rapidly with no sign of slowing down."
